More than 20 Australian companies from the states of South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales will be at the AdvaMed 2016 MedTech Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota, from October 17-19.
Among them will be CPIE Pharmacy Services R&D, the inventor of the Scarab single-use infusion device.

Another company from South Australia, Innovo Healthcare, will bring its patented U-stand Frame to the conference. The simple mobility device is designed to help the sick, frail and elderly get out of bed.
Other South Australian companies exhibiting in the Australia pavilion at AdvaMed include Oakland and Snow Medical, Medical Communications Associates and Personify Care, which are all providers of various health industry software solutions.
“We have a lot to learn from the rest of the world, but equally we have a lot to show the rest of the world,” said Oakland & Snow Medical CEO Dr Patrick Coghlan.
“AdvaMed 2016 is a great opportunity for South Australian-based Health Tech companies such as mine to do both.”
South Australia is transforming its economy from one reliant on traditional manufacturing and mining to one that benefits from innovation and knowledge-based industries such as medical devices.
This is being lead by TechInSA, a government agency tasked with facilitating the growth of the South Australian high-tech sector, and the Tonsley Innovation Hub.
Tonsley is on the site of a former car manufacturing plant and is Australia’s first Innovation Hub. Medical device companies located there include Micro-X and Hydrix, which is also exhibiting at AdvaMed,
Established in 1975, The Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) is a trade association that leads the effort to advance medical technology.
AdvaMed 2016 will include more than 2300 attendees from 934 companied and 118 exhibiting companies.
