THE 2013-14 State Tax Review conducted by national financial services advisory firm, Pitcher Partners, highlights that South Australia is a very affordable state in which to conduct business.

South Australia's lower payroll tax rate (4.95%) coupled with stamp duty savings stemming from lower property prices, has helped the State achieve first and second rankings in the two scenarios analysed.
Pitcher Partners point out that booming property prices are making NSW and WA increasingly unaffordable for small business, as both have property prices which are close to double the relative property prices of those in South Australia.
The Pitcher Partners examples illustrate that for a business looking to start-up an operation in Australia, South Australia offers one of the most attractive State taxation regimes.
This is the latest in a string of accolades for South Australia, including the state's capital city, Adelaide, being ranked as 5th world's most livable city by the Economist Intelligence and also voted the most affordable city in Australia three years in a row by the Australian Property Council.
