South Australia's defence industry achievements recognised

The Defence Teaming Centre (DTC) has announced the winners of their annual Defence Industry Member Awards.

DTC chief executive officer Chris Burns said the awards recognise companies and individuals who significantly contribute to the development of the defence industry in South Australia.“All the awardees stand as a testimony to the excellence that is our nation’s defence industry, an industry we can be justifiably proud of,” he said.The winners as announced by DTC are:Outstanding Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Award: recognised an SME that has excelled in their engagement with the defence industry to build their capability and capacity to work in Defence and successfully increase their share of Defence work. This was awarded to Entech Electronics a wholly South Australian business who over the last two years have delivered custom designed and manufactured electronics for several key defence primes.Innovator Award: recognised a company who has invested in research and development to produce innovative products and/or services that have contributed to building the capability of the defence industry in South Australia. This was awarded to Christie Digital, who has developed the Christie Matrix StIM™ WQ, the world’s first, fully integrated solid-state, WQXGA resolution projection system designed specifically to address the requirements of today’s most demanding simulation and training applications.Employer of Choice Award: recognised a company who has demonstrated ‘Employer of Choice’ practices to successfully support its workforce. This was awarded to GHD, who prides itself on their diverse, friendly and value driven culture, aligned with the GHD values of teamwork, respect and integrity.Young Achiever Award: recognised an outstanding young person who is motivated, ambitious and who has excelled in building their career in the defence industry. This was awarded to Chanelle Pogas, Human Resources & Administration Manager at General Dynamics Land Systems – Australia.
