The results of the government-funded news services speak for themselves –in the past 12 months more than 2,000 stories have published by global media outlets garnering over 10 million views of stories about South Australian companies.
Stories like this in June (which had more than 600,000 views):
• Lobster fishers net new plan to tackle global markets
• Fuel saving device set to cut diesel emissions
• Finns double down on Aussie armour order
Last month, the Premier decided not to continue funding this service.
As one of South Australia’s only locally owned news companies, we feel the stories about our great State still need to be told and amplified around the world to promote South Australia as an investment and tourism destination.
Solstice Media has therefore decided to take a leadership position and will continue to operate The Lead telling stories about South Australia to the world at our own cost.
It’s our contribution to the local recovery and what we do best.
Like our successful 40 Under 40 program, The South Australian Business Index and Regional Showcase, we will fund and run these projects ourselves because we believe in promoting South Australia, with or without government support.
