Tourism industry highlighted in webinar series in November

The Department for Trade and Investment is hosting a series of five live Q&A webinars focusing on the tourism industry, its future and possibilities.

The series begins on Monday 9 November at 2pm with a talk on the Future of tourism, a live leadership discussion on South Australia’s tourism resilience, trends and opportunities around the 2030 vision for visitors and investment. Join Adele Labine-Romain, Partner, Deloitte Access Economics, Mark Young, Managing Director, Adelaide Airport Limited, Rodney Harrex, Chief Executive,  South Australian Tourism Commission, with host Leonie Muldoon, Chief Executive, Department for Trade and Investment.

Eco, nature and wine trends is next off the rank on Wednesday 11 November at 2pm and will include Jo Podoliak, Director Tourism and Economic Development, Department of Environment and Water, Kelly-Anne Saffin, Chief Executive Officer, RDA Yorke and Mid North, and Rod Hillman, Chief Executive, Ecotourism Australia talking about trends and opportunities in booming regional South Australian destinations with host Helen Edwards, Chair Regional Visitor Strategy Steering Committee, South Australian Tourism Commission.

On Tuesday 17 November investment stories from successful tourism investors will be shared by Jonathon Lee, Manager, Chip Eng Seng (CEL Development), Sam Atkins, Executive Chairman, The Cliffs Golf Resort – Kangaroo Island, and Dr. Sam Shahin, Managing Director, The Bend Motorsport Park when the talk with Belinda Redman, Director State Promotions, Department for Trade and Investment during the Naught to one hundred webinar at 2pm.

A live and interactive pitch session featuring some of the state’s top tourism investment and partnership opportunities airs on Tuesday 24 November at 2pm with Wendy Liang, Greaton Commercial Manager, Wirra Wirra McLaren Vale Resort, Damian Scanlon, Nora Creina Golf Resort, and Brent Blanks, Dauncey Hotel featuring in Pitch tank hosted by Taliessin Reaburn, Director International Education and Tourism, Department for Trade and Investment.

The last of the tourism series is the Invest in Australia guide that looks at best practices, how it works and who to talk to. Hosted by Taliessin Reaburn on Monday 30 November at 2pm it will feature Hon. Stephen Patterson MP, Minister for Trade and Investment, South Australian Government, Andrew Perkins, Director, Business Development SA and NT, Export Finance Australia, and Bianca Jennings, Partner, Piper Alderman.
