SOUTH AUSTRALIA is in store for another sport filled summer with the Santos Tour Down Under headlining the list of some of the state’s biggest events.

Adelaide will be packed full of athletes from around the world; flooding the city, links, beaches and tracks. This season will feature the World Tennis Challenge, Women’s Australian Golf Open, preparation for Rio at the Adelaide Track Classic, and the first every day/night test game when New Zealand play Australia at Adelaide Oval on 27 November.
Here is what’s in store for sports fans this summer:Adelaide 36ersThe 36ers will be hoping to increase the gap between the fifth placed Illawarra Hawks when they play each other on 21 November at the Titanium Security Arena.
New Zealand’s Tour of Australia -27 NovemberThe Kiwis will look to bounce back against Australia after an embarrassing series in New Zealand. The first test will be played at Adelaide Oval on 27 November and will feature the first ever day/night test format.
Beach Volleyball Tour – November-MarchThe SA Beach Tour is the premier tour in South Australia with some of Australia’s best players competing for thousands of dollars’ worth of prizes on some of the country’s best beaches.
Adelaide United – 6 DecemberThe Reds have not played their best this season bur will look to leapfrog Perth Glory when they play each other at Coopers Stadium on 6 December.
Adelaide Bite – 18 DecemberSA Baseball is back for another summer that promises to be nothing short of entertaining in a newly extended 56-game regular season. The Bite take on last season’s champions Perth on 18 December at Norwood Oval in a rematch of the 2015 ABL Finals.
World Tennis Challenge – 12-14 JanuaryThanasiKokkinakisPhilippoussis
Santos Tour Down Under – 16-24 JanuaryThe world famous cycling competition returns to south Australian roads on 16 January, bringing with it some of the best riders in the world.
Adelaide Thunderbirds – 18 JanuaryNew season, new coach for the Thunderbirds. Michelle den Dekker will have her first taste as newly appointed head coach when the T-birds tip of preseason on 18 January
Port Lincoln Tunarama Festival – 25 Januaryprogramme
Brighton Jetty Classic – 7 FebruarySouth Australia’s largest open water swimming event and will celebrate its 10th anniversary when it commences on 7 February.
Women’s Australian Open Golf Tournament – February 18 to 21
Kangaroo Island Cup – 18 FebruaryThe three-day celebration of racing at South Australia’s famous island getaway promises to bring an entertaining atmosphere. The first race day will begin on Thursday, 18 February.
Adelaide Track Classic – 20 FebruaryThe Adelaide Track Classic will give athletics hopefuls another chance to earn their place in the final team selections for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Clipsal 500 – 3-6 MarchAustralia’s largest motor sporting event will have you cheering on the edge of your seat as the powerful growl of the V8 supercars echo around Adelaide. The Sunday concert will feature a performance by Grammy Award winning artist Rob Thomas.
Socceroos Qualifier –24 March Adelaide Oval will host the Socceroos in an important 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying clash in March.
