THE Social Media Tourism Symposium (SoMeT) begins tomorrow in South Australia’s Barossa Valley, attracting more than 130 delegates from around the world including 24 industry-leading speakers.
Joining the list of speakers includes Weibo Vice President Jingdong Ge, Trip Advisor Senior Sales Manager Sarah Mathews and Michigan Economic Development Corp. Director Chad Wiebesick.
“Thought leaders from around the world attend the Social Media Tourism Symposium to share and learn tips, tricks and best practices utilizing social media and the latest web technologies to promote destinations to tourists,” Mr Wiebesick said.
“I am attending SoMeT14AU to share social media lessons we’ve learned that can be applied to any destination.”
Michigan Economic Development Corp. has led the successful Pure Michigan campaign which has become one of the most powerful tourism campaigns in the United States.
CEO of Think! Social Media Rodney Payne said the 130+ attending delegates from around the world will take home ideas and inspiration to implement in their own social media and tourism campaigns.

SoMeT14 will run between July 16 and 17 in South Australia and the next event will be held in the United States in November.
