Minotaur only just discovered the high grade Artemis copper, gold zinc discovery near Cloncurry in July of this year. It has been described as one of the most significant base metals discovered in recent Queensland History.
The Artemis program is one of the most intense exploration schedules in the current Queensland resources sector.
It includes major new ground geophysics and deep drilling, returning a zone of massive sulphides with high grade copper peaks about 5%, 22 metres at 3% copper, 3.8 grams per tonne gold, 112g per tonne silver, and 6.6% zinc from 157 metres.
Managing Director of Minotaur, Andrew Woskett, said that the award recognised the company's technical team's success in re-appraising tenements, applying modern exploration modelling to deliver positive outcomes within 7 months of having acquired them.
