27 South Australian resource exploration projects will share in $2 million worth of grants as part of the state government’s Plan for Accelerating Exploration (PACE) Discovery Drilling 2015.

More than 20 companies are undertaking discovery projects for gold, copper, zinc, lead, silver, diamonds, nickel, tin, graphite, base metals, mineral sands, uranium and IOCG (Iron oxide copper gold).

“This current suite of proposed drilling programs represents a significant push into frontier areas of the State over the next year and clearly demonstrates the range of active projects and companies exploring in South Australia,” said Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Tom Koutsantonis.

The $2 million in co-funding grants will draw an additional $4.9 million of investment from explorers.

Minister Koutsantonis announced the grants at the opening of the South Australian Resources and Energy Conference at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
