Located in the heritage-listed Colonial Mutual building, the 170-room Mayfair Hotel dominates a prime corner of the South Australian capital’s main thoroughfare.

South Australian development company Adabaco Group fronted the $55 million investment, which includes a jewel-box extension designed by another local company, JPE Design Studio.

The hotel has a fine dining restaurant overseen by executive chef Bethany Finn, a veteran of the restaurant industry in South Australia. Her menus reflect the heritage of the building, including High Tea served on a restored cart, and feature fresh South Australian produce and local wines.

The hotel is catering to the upswing of visitors from Asia, especially China and Malaysia, and features an exclusive rooftop lounge for its VIP guests.

Adelaide has seen a boom in hotel rooms in the past year, all of which will be in high demand during the ICC World Cup game between Pakistan and India on 15 February.
