Jacobs Creek has expanded on the idea of personalised wine labels and now offers visitors to a popup ‘Blend Bar’ the opportunity to personalise the actual wine that goes into the bottle.
Now the winery allows visitors to work one on one with an experienced winemaker and the latest winemaking technology to blend a wine that suits their taste.
With an expert winemaker as their guide, customers add different amounts of the various varietal wines, namely Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir in the red category and Sauvignon Blanc, Moscato, Chardonnay and Riesling in the white, to match their taste.
With up to 548 different wine blends possible from these combinations, the ideal blend for each person is waiting to be created.
Their exact wine recipe is then created by a blending machine and bottled on the spot, complete with a personalised label.
Launched last weekend and continuing every Saturday and Sunday afternoon for seven weeks, the experiment has attracted visitors wanting to taste the winery’s Barossa wines.
The Jacobs Creek Blend Bar is operating until 5 October.Jump to next article
