South Australia's National Wine Centre (NWC) has teamed up with Segway Sensation SA to deliver guided Segway tours through their extensive tasting experience and picturesque vineyard.

The tour takes visitors through the Centre’s interactive and educational Wine Discovery Journey – an exhibition where visitors learn the role wine has played in history, recognise the position of Australian wine in today’s international market and appreciate the relationship between food and wine.

The tour finishes by giving visitors a chance to sample wines from largest wine tasting experience in Australia in the Centre's Wined Bar.

Participants receive a preloaded card to the value of $15, which enables them to taste a selection of the 120 wines on offer from state-of-the-art Enomatic dispensing machines. A charcuterie platter is also provided to share.

NWC Tourism Coordinator Sine Ryan said the tours were a novel way for tourists and locals alike to explore the Centre and learn about Australian wine.

“The Segways are an incredibly fun and safe way to see the sights of the Centre. It’s a unique experience for visitors to Adelaide and also a great team building exercise for corporate groups looking to do something a bit outside the box,” Ryan said.

“The smart Segway design automatically senses and responds to the body’s forward or backward movements, making it simple to learn and operate for people of all ages.”

See the National Wine Centre for more information on the Segway experience.
